Linux Mint - Free and powerful

When your /dev/mapper encrypted disk is corrupt after a hang do this rather

sudo cryptsetup -r luksOpen /dev/sdb1 crypthome

sudo] password

Enter passphrase for /dev/sdb1:

sudo mount /dev/mapper/crypthome /romount

mount: block device /dev/mapper/crypthome is write-protected, mounting read-only

cd /romount

Now copy your important data!

Once done you can remount and use fsck.ext4. I recommend using the -y flag if you know it is in a bad state and your important data is recovered.

Not fun when it happens though :-(
