The prodigal son returns

Ok, so perhaps it is the your copy of Windows is not genuine that made me come back or perhaps I really missed the freedom.

Anyway, my last rant about Linux is that it was a distraction from my real job. Actually, it turns out that it was a differentiator and as I have found out, uniqueness is important and having specialised skills is crucial in a market where the company you work for has no particular interest in your well being. Gone are the old days of benefactors and life long careers. I am generalizing of course but I do not think I am far of the mark.

I have now moved my work machine back to Maverick Meerkat but I am only 60 percent done. On of the pains I have is trying to access ext4 from Windows 7. Painful. It seems that Virtual Volumes kinda works but it is corrupted my disk once but fortunately I could boot from the USB drive and check the disk.

I have used TheeMans Ultimate Edition for a long time and have promoted his work tirelessly. I downloaded 2.8 based on Maverick Meerkat (Ubuntu 10.10) and I am extremely happy with it. I am a bit perturbed by a posted video as I expected swanky offices etc. I guess I have to start donating!

The journey starts again and as the Hare said to Alice said before she was raped by that fool Tim Burton, Well start at the beginning and when you get to the end...stop.

Through the keyhole we go then...
