Monday, April 07, 2014:  There are various tools that come for the Linux platform. Different tools suit different users, but their are some that get a bigger following than others. Here are a few tools that you may find useful!



1. FSlint

This tool allows you to find different forms on lint on your file system.

sudo apt-get install fslint

2. TestDisk

This is an open source data recovery software released under the GNU Public License.

sudo apt-get install testdisk

3. TrueCrypt

This free and open source software that works on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X p

4. BleachBit

This is a software that guards your privacy and frees up disk space while doing so.

5. PalimpSet Disk Utility

From the website: "DeviceKit is a simple system service that a) can enumerate devices; b) emits signals when devices are added or removed; c) provides a way to merge device information / quirks onto devices. It is designed to partially replace hal and overcome some of the design limitiations of hal. DeviceKit functionality is provided in the form of dbus services on the system bus."

A synchronisation application for GNOME.

A pretty simple backup tool for Linux.
