Canon MP258 printer and Ubuntu

Do you have the ubiquitous Canon MP258 printer? Stores here in Malaysia have them packed to the rafters and they are cheap as chips. Cartridges will keep Canon in profit forever though.

So how do you get this to work as there does not seem to be native support for it in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat?

Well, thanks to this Australian Canon Website it is now possible. Why Canon can't publish this in the main site is beyond me but this works so no real big issue.

This was a good site for information as well.
